Background

Cleanskins.com is a privately held online retailer of Cleanskin wine that is sourced from a range of premium / boutique wineries throughout Australia.
The marketplace for Cleanskin wine has become crowded in a fairly short time frame. Cleanskins.com decided to operate in the marketplace in a different manner, using the internet as its store front. It is not alone in this respect, however its uniqueness is that it does not have any traditional retail outlets, such as stores or cellar doors.
Cleanskins.com has traded since 2002.

Scope

To work with James Horne to develop a clearly articulated marketing plan, based on gathering initial marketplace data and seeking to develop a marketing strategy for customer acquisition that would see the company placed in a position that would enable capital raising from a selection of private investment sources.
Nesso worked on developing an overarching marketing strategy and, within the strategy, the tactical implementation of the strategy.
The scope of the project was widened to include the operational strategy and tactics for management of the sales channel, including sales forecasting and financial modeling based on research and market testing.

Results

The project was brought in on time and within budget, with clarity of purpose and thought that when combined with the financial projections and business valuation models that the required funds were oversubscribed within hours of an investors briefing.

Feedback

15th November 2003
To whom it may concern
Cleanskins.com recently engaged Ross Mitchell and Nesso to assist us in the development of a marketing and operational strategy for our online e-tailing business.
The initial engagement was for Ross to conduct some early level research on a marketing strategy in order to support us in gaining investor backing.
It became obvious that the skills that Ross brought to the table were far more valuable than I was aware of, and within a short period of time Ross was working on developing a marketing strategy and operational plan for the business.
The feedback from the investors was that the marketing and operational plans were very sound and full of common sense.
I am happy to say that the investment backing we sought was attained and in no small part due to the work that Ross and Nesso did for us.
I would recommend to anyone needing a common sense marketing and operational strategy that they speak with Ross and consider using his services.
Yours sincerely
James Horne
